Day 09: Shopping Time

Saturday. We just decided to stay at our hotel in the morning and go to Brookfields after breakfast since one of the team was working halfday today and we didn't want to go somewhere and leave them behind. (Yes, we do a lot of things together, from breakfast-until late night blogging). We had lunch at the foodcourt and meet rest of the team there.
After lunch, the gentlemen decided to go back home, and Us women, decided to go to FabIndia and Gandhi Puram and do what we do best "Shopping". I bought saree and some kurtas.
For dinner we went to The Residency and eat some non-veg meal haha! It was fun crossing the road and climbing up the concrete barrier and screaming while crossing because cars will start honking non-stop. It was fun crossing the road the "Indian Way". Had a great day!

Day 08: Interview starts today

Friday.Meeting in the HOD to finalized our SOW, and survey. In the afternoon, we went for a meeting with a local NGO and the meeting lasted for 2 hours. Yes,it was 2 hours and for the people you know me two hours for me is too long. My attention and listening skills were really put into test. It was not just listening, but rather an emphatic listening to better understood the training needs of the NGOs on how they can be effective trainers to help address the community problems. To be honest I'm not used to listening emphatically, im trained to know the high level information, deliver what is expected from me, and meet the deadlines... But now i realized the most important part of coming up of better solutions is to listen.

Thoughts going to Isha Yoga Center and to attend the Mahashivarathri Event ..
It was already one week since i left Manila..
I am thankful for everything.Thankful for my team enjoying every moment with them, i found comfort, love and security miles away from home. This is my 2nd home, they are my family away from home...

Day 07: Its cricket time!

Its PSG employee's day today. The PSG management organized a cricket match for their employees. We had a time-off on our project to watch the game.Had fun watching the match, its like a baseball game with a different bat. We also tried hitting some balls, but sadly i missed it. Though Govert and timea hit couple of balls! It was fun :)

After work we attended our yoga class, it was not something i expected from a yoga class in india. Let me say im disappointed, but anyways it was fun because had tried it together with my team. After that none of us would want to go out of the hotel. So we just ordered food at the hotel and hang-out in our fave place "the patio". After dinner we went straight to our room and call it a night!

Day 06: Kabi and Barbara's Last Day in Coimbatore

Wednesday. We drafted our survey questionnaire for the Need Assessment Analysis for our project and it has to be reviewed and approved by our client by the end of the week. Everything went well with the brainstorming and finalizing the deliverable so we could also present them on Friday. I have a great team, we have different opinions but it gives us different and broader perspective on what should work and how work will get done.

After work, we decided to have dinner since It was Kabi and barbara's last day in Coimbatore. They will go to Kuchi(Cochin) to meet the new team that will arrive this weekend(CSC India 16).We had dinner at Anandhas which is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Its a vegetarian restaurant with good service and affordable food.

We had a tour in the department, got a background of what the department is doing to improve the current state of the rural communities in Tamil Nadu.

In the afternoon we visited the Vedepatti health center that owns by PSG. Their med students are doing their internship here for 1 month and visit the rural communities in nearby villages. We also visited another center for their livelihood programs. They have trainings for sewing, and typing lesson. They teach the jvillagers for them to generate income that will help them provide income for their families. It was a great and an eye-opening experience for me.
