We arrived at 845 in the College of Community Health Medicine building and we were introduced to the principal and other doctors in the community health department. We had a tour in the department, got a background of what the department is doing to improve the current state of the rural communities in Tamil Nadu.
In the afternoon we visited the Vedepatti health center that owns by PSG. Their med students are doing their internship here for 1 month and visit the rural communities in nearby villages. We also visited another center for their livelihood programs. They have trainings for sewing, and typing lesson. They teach the jvillagers for them to generate income that will help them provide income for their families. It was a great and an eye-opening experience for me.
